They were based in Braintree, Essex, and had a ‘company’ village at Silver End. This edition has very striking art-deco style, if not ‘jazz age’, graphics and the cover was designed by W F Crittall, the man who played the major role in elevating the company from a hardware and metal manufacturing company into a specialist window producer that was closely allied to the new architectures of the twentieth century.” -Photo and quote via MikeyAshworth
